Syrian Society for Scientific Research (SSSR) announces four Distinguished Student scholarships available for students in all Electrical and Electronics Engineering majors in all Syrian universities. These scholarships award the students for their academic excellence by giving them the opportunity to connect with research and professional communities all over the world. Thus, enabling the students to build and foster relationships that might help them advance their future career whether in academia or in industry.
Each one of the four Distinguished Student scholarships include:
1) Full year IEEE student membership paid for by SSSR.
2) Certificate of Distinction awarded by SSSR.
Note: No monetary prizes will be awarded.
Two scholarships are available for last-year undergraduate students and other two for graduate students (Masters or PhD).
Scholarship Requirements:
1) Current student in any Electrical and Electronics Engineering major at any Syrian university.
2) Last-year undergraduate or graduate student.
3) Good academic withstanding with a “good” or higher ranking.
4) Ability to show engineering excellence through a prior research or professional experience, distinguished projects, awards, competitions, etc.
Application deadline: December 15, 2013.

1) Resume with any supportive documents.
2) A photocopy of university transcripts for at least two years.
3) A one-page letter to SSSR explaining the applicant research interests and how this scholarship will help him/her achieve their goals.
